Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Manager to develop and implement advocacy strategies aimed at influencing policies and raising awareness about renewable energy (RE) at provincial and district levels.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including power producers, government agencies, regulatory bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs), academia, and media.
  • Lead the design, planning, and implementation of awareness campaigns targeting local communities, policymakers, and stakeholders to promote adoption of renewable energy and related sustainable practices.
  • Assist in research on RE and JET policies to provide evidence-based input to advocacy efforts.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, conferences, and forums that bring together key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, policy briefs, social media content, and website updates.
  • Monitor media coverage, public perception, and policy developments related to renewable energy and climate action. Build relationships with media outlets to ensure positive media engagement.
  • Assist in executing monthly JET Café events, including coordinating with guest speakers, managing participant engagement, and ensuring technical experts' involvement to facilitate discussions.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of public awareness campaigns aimed at educating communities, youth, and stakeholders on the benefits of renewable energy and climate action.
  • Prepare reports on advocacy and communication activities, documenting outcomes and stakeholder feedback, and sharing them with the project team and donors.
  • Maintain and update a database of stakeholders involved in advocacy and communication efforts, ensuring accurate records of contacts and engagement details.
  • Coordinate with academic institutions for joint research and advocacy initiatives, providing technical support where necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor to support the overall objectives of the advocacy and communication strategy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, environmental studies, energy management, or other related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in coordination, communication, particularly in the energy or environment sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, policies, and trends
  • Fluency in English and Urdu, with proficiency in Sindhi being an advantage.
