Qualification required:
Masters degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Environmental Studies, or a related field. Proven experience of minimum 6 years in community engagement, stakeholder coordination, and capacity building. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings. Knowledge of sustainable development practices, particularly in the areas of micro-hydropower, land resource management, and water management.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct community meetings and workshops to inform and involve local populations in project activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Address community concerns and feedback, ensuring they are integrated into project planning and implementation.
  • Facilitate collaboration between various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and non-governmental organizations with the consent of the concerned DPM.
  • Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues.
  • Develop and implement training programs for community members on topics such as sustainable land management, water conservation, and micro-hydropower maintenance.
  • Support local communities in developing skills and knowledge to manage and maintain project infrastructure.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of project activities related to micro-hydropower, private sector development, land resource management, and irrigation.
  • Monitor and report on the social impact of project activities, ensuring they align with project goals and community needs.
  • Mediate conflicts that may arise between community members or between the community and project stakeholders. Develop strategies to address and mitigate potential social risks associated with project activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of community interactions, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities and social impact assessments.

Preferred Skills:
Experience working on projects related to renewable energy, private sector development, or natural resource management. Familiarity with local languages and cultural practices. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
