Job Purpose
The Chef – Fast Food will be responsible for teaching and training students in the preparation of fast food dishes, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and understanding of kitchen operations. The role includes providing guidance on cooking techniques, food safety standards, and managing kitchen operations to ensure students are well-prepared for the fast-food industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver practical training sessions to students on the preparation of fast food dishes, ensuring they learn cooking techniques, presentation, and portion control.
  2. Teach students how to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food quality.
  3. Provide instruction on kitchen safety, food hygiene, and food handling practices to ensure students understand industry standards.
  4. Monitor and evaluate students’ progress, offering constructive feedback to help them improve their cooking skills and kitchen management.
  5. Oversee the students during kitchen practice sessions, ensuring they work efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards.
  6. Develop and implement lesson plans and training modules based on fast food industry standards and current market trends.
  7. Ensure that all dishes prepared by students meet the restaurant's quality standards for taste, presentation, and hygiene.
  8. Teach students how to properly manage kitchen tools, equipment, and ingredients, ensuring they learn proper care and usage.
  9. Assist in creating a training curriculum that includes a variety of fast food dishes, from basic to advanced techniques.
  10. Provide guidance on food storage, inventory management, and waste reduction to help students understand the business side of fast food operations.
  11. Ensure students are aware of and can demonstrate proper food handling and allergy safety protocols.
  12. Collaborate with the Project Manager to align training programs with industry needs and ensure students are prepared for employment in the fast food sector.
  13. Track and report on student progress, including attendance, performance, and skills development, to ensure they meet program goals.
  14. Assist with the preparation of training reports and contribute to any improvements in training processes or content.

Performance Indicators

  • Improvement in students' culinary skills and knowledge of fast food preparation.
  • Quality of dishes prepared by students during practical training.
  • Adherence to food safety and hygiene standards by students.
  • Successful completion of the training program by students, with skills ready for employment.
  • Feedback from students regarding the effectiveness of training methods and lessons.
  • Alignment of training outcomes with industry standards and employer expectations.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of reports on student performance and progress.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Associate, or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, Food Technology, or Hospitality Management.
  • Certification in culinary arts or professional cooking is an advantage.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in fast food, commercial kitchens, or culinary training.
  • Prior experience teaching or training students in food preparation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fast food operations, menu standards, and hygiene protocols.

  • Strong practical culinary skills, particularly in fast food preparation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to teach and mentor students effectively.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Urdu.
  • Creativity and problem-solving in culinary techniques and training.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.
