Job Summary
Background: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Lady Health Vistor for Ghizer, Hunza and Gilgit, under CASI Project.
Job Summary: Lady Health Vistor is an essential part of the health team who takes responsibility of improving the health of the individuals in general and mothers and children in particular through preventive, promotive and curative care based on the principles of primary health care. The role involves working within a community setting, often visiting people in their own homes. It primarily involves supporting new parents and pre-school children.
Key Responsibilities
- Registers all families of target population.
- Registers all pregnant and lactating mothers; assess them regularly as per protocol, ensure care through referral to respective BHCS and other facilities during the antenatal and postnatal period.
- Identifies high-risk mothers and children and manage properly and timely referrals.
- Carries out growth monitoring of 0-5-year-old children as per CASI protocols and identify malnourished children according to guidelines and manage accordingly.
- Assess adolescent youth for nutritional deficiencies, counsel and manage as per protocol.
- Ensures breast feeding practices and starting weaning diets at 6 months of age.
- Ensures implementation of MIYCN and Reproductive health care according to the provided standards.
- Maintains stocks ledgers, OTP register, child and mother registers and prepare and submit reports following the deadlines.
- Organizes, implement and supervise health promotion activities with LHS, LHWs, CHWs, & CMW’s to raise awareness of preventive measures, hygienic practices and nutritional status.
- Maintains good communication with stakeholders and ensure timely submission of reports.
- Ensures implementation of health education/promotion activities in coordination with field team and DoH Staff.
- Supports and training for new team members, workers and other staff.
- Conducts health, education session according to CASI Requirements.
- Ensures Data Entries in CASI APP, Data collection in other data collection tools.
- Coordinates with Data Officer, Field Teams, DoH Staff (LHS, LHW’s, CMWs) & other workers (CHWs).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- LHV Diploma from any recognized nursing institution
- Registered with Pakistan Nursing Council.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a reputable institution,
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written with clients and staff
- Ability to work under pressure
- Always demonstrate polite and courteous behavior
- Demonstrate positive and receptive attitudes to those in authority and to customers
- Relevant skills and knowledge on growth assessment and nutrition
- Provide personalized care
- She should be fully aware of the mission and key objectives of the AKHSP, CASI Project and endeavors to implement with team spirit within the department.
- Must be regular and punctual of his/her duties.
