Here at Action For Humanity (AFH), we are looking for a MEAL and Database Officer to join us in our Pakistan office in Bahawalpur - Ahmedpur Sharqia. You will join us on a full-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary depending on experience.

AFH is implementing community outreach activities following structured learning process based on the Farmer Field School (FFS) approach to encourage collective problem solving, demand-led and locally appropriate responses that blend traditional and improved scientifically proven adaptation options.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead program department in-need assessments, baseline, end line, and post-distribution monitoring surveys in terms of forming data collection tools, sample size, and training of data collection team.
  • Conduct interviews with line departments, conduct PRA exercises, and administer questionnaires.
  • Carry out beneficiary validation exercise.
  • Ensure data quality and data consistency during data collection and data entry, manage database, and facilitate data analysis. Conduct data audit of up to 50% sample of the field data collection as well as data entered into the database by project or data entry staff and generate data audit report.
  • Draft report of surveys (baseline & end line and assessments).
  • Ensure that the implementation of field activities adheres to AFH’s monitoring and evaluation system.
  • Carry out regular and routine field monitoring of program activities and produce monitoring visit reports on the given format; conduct debriefs sessions with relevant program staff and develops an agreed action plan; and report.
  • Carry out follow-up monitoring visits to materialize actions agreed in the action plan, also maintain Monitoring-Action Plan Tracker at field level; and report to line manager.
  • To assist in planning and implementation of internal monitoring and evaluation exercises and impact assessments in terms of case/success stories and during project evaluation when needed.
  • Manage all internal evaluation activities of the base; systematically ensure the analysis of results is shared with stakeholders.
  • Ensure and support the completion of the beneficiaries’ database in coordination with the program team.


Qualification & Experience

  • Masters in Social sciences, international relations or any other related field from any HEC recognized university.
  • At least 2 Years field level experience in project monitoring.
  • Good level of spoken and written Urdu, English and local languages.
  • Excellent skills in organizing workflow, capacity to follow protocols and take own initiative.
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in an environment where there are physical discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust or dirt.

 

Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to project site and villages when required.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites.
  • Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills.
  • Good computer skills - ability to write weekly and monthly reports and data analysis.
