Job Description:
To provide essential maternal and reproductive healthcare services, promote hygiene and nutrition awareness, and support survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through medical assistance, counseling, and referrals at Women and Girls Friendly Spaces (WGFS). The role aims to enhance women's health and well-being by delivering quality healthcare, conducting awareness sessions, and ensuring a survivor-centered approach in all interventions.
Main Responsibilities
Primary Healthcare Services:
- Provide essential health services, including maternal and child health care, antenatal and postnatal check-ups, and immunization.
- Offer basic treatment, wound care, and first aid for minor injuries or illnesses.
- Support reproductive health services, including family planning counseling and contraceptive distribution.
- Facilitate safe and supportive referrals to specialized medical, psychosocial, and legal services.
Community Engagement and Awareness:
- Conduct awareness sessions on health, hygiene, nutrition, family planning, and GBV prevention for women and girls.
- Promote safe and healthy practices through educational sessions in communities and WGFS (Women and Girls Friendly Spaces).
- Encourage community participation in health and well-being initiatives.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of health services provided, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Ensure timely reporting of health statistics and GBV-related cases while maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinate with supervisors and relevant stakeholders for program updates and improvements.
Coordination and Teamwork:
- Work closely with WGFS staff, case workers, social workers, and community outreach teams to provide holistic support.
- Participate in capacity-building sessions and professional training to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health protocols and safety standards in all interventions.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or certification as a Lady Health Visitor (LHV) from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in maternal health, reproductive health, or working in WGFS or similar settings.
- Training in GBV case management, psychosocial support, or community health will be an advantage.
- Fluency in local languages is preferred
