Job Advertisement – Statistician (based at Karachi)

We are looking for a suitable senior level Statistician having below qualifications and experience:-

Qualifications & Skills required

• Candidate with PhD or Mphil degree in Statistics from a reputable Institution (National or International)
• At least 8-10 years of working experience at the national or sub-national level at key positions in health related programs ideally with direct working experience relating to family planning program research, development, and implementation of programs in Pakistan.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills with a command over statistical analysis. Should be familiar with statistical packages i.e. SPSS, STATA, R etc. and have the capability of conducting independent analysis of large data sets.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Conduct data management, cleaning and weighting of data sets and provide recommendations for data improvement, quality and efficiency of information; 
2. Develop and lead the analysis of survey data and results visualization in statistical software such as R, SPSS or Excel;
3. Identify, collect and integrate data from various sources, including external datasets and internal databases and prepare for analysis;
4. Design and provide composite indicators and indices of health and health related outcomes and their determinants to provide research-based evidence;
5. Develop mathematical models and projections including the descriptive and inferential statistics and make recommendations for structuring and collecting/data feeds and template(s);
6. Provide statistical expertise and conduct advanced data analysis to prepare articles and manuscripts for scientific conferences and peer-reviewed journals;
7. Identify trends, metrics and make dashboard for visualization of survey data;
8. Review and contribute on instruments for quantitative data collection and sampling strategy, and develop parts of data analysis plan;
9. Collaborate with the research team of international experts to interpret findings and answer the study questions;

General Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director in the implementation of organizational objectives for different projects/studies of the organization. This would include providing technical, implementation and monitoring support to existing research, studies and projects;

• Ensure that all resources of the organization are utilized effectively and efficiently to organizational objectives and deliver quality outputs.
• Establish and maintain a comfortable, professional, and apolitical atmosphere at the workplace, consistent with the administrative policies, requirements, and guidelines of the organization.
