Relevant Experience:

a)       Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., development studies, social sciences, project management, gender studies).

b)      Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in project implementation preferably with diverse and vulnerable communities.

c)       Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with project beneficiaries, community leaders, and local government officials.

d)      Fluency in English and the local language(s) of the project area is required.

e)       Strong commitment to ACT's mission and values, with a strong desire to promote gender equality and empower women and girls.

f)       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

g)      Willingness to travel to project sites and work in remote areas.

h)      Experience working in a diverse environment.

i)        Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

The Project Officer will be based in the project areas where ACT's project is being implemented and will report to the Provincial Managers. The initial contract for the Project Officer will be for one year, with a 3-month probation period and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

 

Job Description:

The Project Officer will be responsible for;

a)       Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities.

b)      Engaging with local communities, partners, government departments, and other related stakeholders to foster collaboration and coordination.

c)       Monitoring project activities and providing regular updates to the project management team.

d)      Collecting and compiling data on project outcomes and impact at the local level.

e)       Addressing challenges and bottlenecks in project implementation in collaboration with the project team.

f)       Conducting community outreach and awareness programs related to the project.

Supporting the reporting and documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
