At AFH Pakistan, we are looking for an Assistant Programme Officer to join our country office in Islamabad. This is a core position, and the selected candidate will be part of the AFH Pakistan core team based in Islamabad. Job Purpose:
The Assistant Programme Officer will provide day-to-day operational, administrative, and documentation support to the Country Director and Programme Department. This role will focus on maintaining institutional records, supporting proposal development processes, timely reporting, ensuring readiness for due diligence, and coordinating internal data relevant to institutional engagement. The role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in proposal writing, logical framework development, and donor documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Programme support (30%)
- Assist in drafting concept notes, proposals, and supporting documents aligned with donor formats and guidelines.
- Provide support in structuring logical frameworks and result-based matrices for project proposals.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather programme-related inputs for timely proposal submission.
2. Documentation & Due Diligence Records (30%)
- Maintain and update all official documentation required for institutional due diligence, including certificates, organizational policies, legal registrations, and governance documents.
- Ensure all AFH Pakistan due diligence folders are up to date and audit-ready.
- Support in preparing documentation packages for partner onboarding or donor assessments.
3. Reporting & Data Management (25%)
- Support programmes department in compiling data for periodic donor reports.
- Maintain a centralized database of project information, donor contacts, funding deadlines, and reporting schedules.
- Ensure records are systematically maintained and easily accessible to relevant staff.
4. Administrative & Coordination Support (15%)
- Provide administrative assistance to the Country Director in coordination tasks, background documents, and dashboards as requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Anthropology, or a relevant field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in the development/humanitarian sector.
- Foundational understanding of proposal writing, log frame design, and institutional donor compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Good understanding of humanitarian and development work.

- This is a desk-based role located at AFH’s Pakistan Office in Islamabad.
- The role is part of the Programme Department, reporting directly to the Programmes Coordinator with dotted-line reporting to the Country Director.
