Four (4) Vaccinators are required for the Union Councils of Nasai, Kanmehterzai, Musafirpur and Alikhail in District Qilla Saif Ullah(one position per Union Council). Preference will be given to candidates belonging to the respective Union Council.

Job Summary:

The Vaccinator will be responsible for planning and implementing routine and outreach immunization services in the assigned Union Councils of District Qilla Saif Ullah. The position will support the identification and vaccination of zero-dose and under-immunized children, strengthen immunization coverage through community engagement, and ensure accurate reporting in accordance with EPI and Gavi guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

Immunization Service Delivery

  • Conduct routine and outreach immunization sessions according to approved microplans.
  • Administer all EPI vaccines in accordance with the National EPI Schedule and Government guidelines.
  • Ensure safe vaccine handling, cold chain maintenance, and infection prevention practices during all vaccination activities.
  • Identify and vaccinate zero-dose, missed, and under-immunized children in targeted communities.
  • Participate in integrated outreach sessions in collaboration with LHWs, LHVs, CMWs, and other health staff.

Community Engagement

  • Coordinate with Social Mobilizers, Community Support Groups, Religious Leaders, and local influencers to improve immunization uptake.
  • Participate in community awareness campaigns, advocacy sessions, and immunization promotion activities.
  • Support HPV vaccination awareness activities when required.

Planning and Coordination

  • Participate in microplanning and monthly work planning with District Health Authorities.
  • Coordinate closely with DHO, DDHO, EPI staff, PPHI, and health facility in-charges.
  • Attend project review meetings, trainings, and coordination meetings organized by organization and the District Health Office.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate vaccination records, tally sheets, daily registers, permanent registers, and vaccine utilization records.
  • Ensure timely reporting through NEIR and other approved EPI reporting systems.
  • Report vaccination coverage, outreach activities, adverse events following immunization (AEFI), vaccine stock status, and field challenges.
  • Support monitoring and supervisory visits by organization, DHO, Provincial EPI, UNICEF, WHO, MannionDaniels, and Gavi representatives.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with National EPI policies, Gavi requirements, and organization's  Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in all activities.
  • Perform any other project-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Vaccination, Health Technology, Nursing, or any other relevant health qualification recognized by the Government.
  • Valid EPI Vaccinator certification/training will be preferred.
  • Registration with the relevant professional council (where applicable).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Routine Immunization or Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).
  • Experience in outreach vaccination, mobile health services, or community-based immunization programmes.
  • Previous experience with Gavi, UNICEF, WHO, Government EPI, or NGO-funded health projects will be an advantage.
  • Experience working in hard-to-reach and underserved communities is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Routine Immunization and vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Knowledge of cold chain management and vaccine logistics.
  • Ability to prepare vaccination records and reports accurately.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field settings.
  • Strong coordination and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office and digital reporting tools).
  • Familiarity with NEIR or other EPI reporting systems will be an advantage.

Languages

  • Fluency in Pashto and Urdu is required.
  • Knowledge of Balochi will be considered an advantage.
  • Basic written and spoken English is desirable.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of planned immunization sessions conducted.
  • Vaccination coverage achieved against assigned targets.
  • Number of zero-dose and under-immunized children vaccinated.
  • Timeliness and quality of reporting.
  • Vaccine wastage maintained within acceptable limits.
  • Compliance with cold chain protocols.
  • Participation in outreach, integrated health, and community engagement activities.
  • Quality of coordination with district health authorities and project teams.

Working Conditions

The position requires extensive field travel within the assigned Union Councils of District Killa Saif Ullah, including remote and underserved communities. The Vaccinator may be required to work on weekends or public holidays during immunization campaigns or special outreach activities.
